ITINERARY
-
- We will pick you up from the hotel in Siem Reap and head straight to the Tonle Sap River, the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia, located just 15 kilometers from Siem Reap town. This lake plays a vital role in Cambodia’s ecosystem and is an essential source of livelihood for local communities.
- Upon arrival at the lake port, we will board a local boat from the ferry to explore the famous floating villages of Kampong Phluk. As we cruise along the calm waters, you will witness firsthand the daily life of local families who depend primarily on fishing for their income. The houses here are built on tall stilts and painted in vibrant colors, allowing them to withstand the seasonal flooding during the rainy months.
- You will also explore the flooded mangrove forest that surrounds the area. This unique ecosystem is home to a variety of wildlife, including crab-eating macaques, birds, and aquatic species. With over 3,000 inhabitants living in this area, you’ll gain insight into how they adapt to life on the water.
- To complete the experience, we will visit a Buddhist monastery built on an artificial island, offering a peaceful atmosphere and a glimpse into the spiritual life of the local community. After the visit, we will transfer you back to your hotel in Siem Reap, leaving you with lasting memories of Cambodia’s unique culture and natural beauty.
