ITINERARY

• • Pickup from your hotel in Phnom Penh by the guide and you will travel through the bustling streets of Phnom Penh.
  • Then, you will enjoy a local delicacy from one of the many roadside stalls along the way before we board the barge to cross the mighty Mekong River. Once you arrive on Silk Island you will enjoy viewing the traditional homes of the local village and farmers working the rich soils for their crops.
  • The tour culminates with a visit to the Silk Farm which the island is named for. Here you can see the full production cycle of silk.
  • This is an enjoyable trip to explore the lifestyle of the people on the island, which is a traditional weaving village. The boat trip to the island will take one hour. On the way, you will see the stilted houses, fishing villages, Mekong and Four Faces Rivers. When we get to the island, we will take a Tuk Tuk around the village, so we can see the mango and banana plantations and the different crops that are grown on the island. You will also visit a Silk Farm, Buddhist monastery and the children in a local school (subject to the school schedule that day).
