ITINERARY
-
- You’re picked up from your hotel at 7:00 am and drive to the remote archaeological site of Koh Ker Group in northern Cambodia, about 120 kilometers away from Siem Reap. Koh Ker temple is likely to have been the state temple of Khmer King Jayavarman IV. It is vertically oriented in the shape of a pyramid with seven tiers and numerous shrines, all of which combine to create an imposing sight.
- You’ll learn all about the formerly powerful Khmer Empire as you tour the area with your guide and take some picturesque photos.
- In the afternoon, we will have lunch at the local restaurant at your own account before heading to Beng Melea, the mysterious 12th-century temple in the middle of the jungle. This temple is heavily overgrown with vegetation, trees, lianas, and mosses. This temple is the most ruined stone temple in Angkor Park, as well as one of the largest temples on a grand scale in this historic site.
- Before returning to the city, experience the boat cruise to Kampong Phluk fishing village at Tonle Sap.
